My Story
Before founding Luckings & Co. Wills and LPAs, I spent eight years working in drug discovery labs in Cambridge, following my degree in Chemistry. I loved the problem-solving nature of the work and the sense of contributing to something meaningful. But after being made redundant, I found myself at a crossroads - and knew it was time for a change.
Around the same time, my own family was going through difficult experiences around Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney. I saw first-hand how emotional and complicated it can be when plans aren’t clearly in place, and how expensive and time-consuming the process can become when relying solely on traditional solicitors. I also knew many others facing similar frustrations.
My farming family is now at risk of losing our family farm due to recent changes in inheritance tax laws. This has made me realise how important proper estate planning is, especially for families with assets like land and property. I began researching, found the topic both fascinating and vital, and soon committed to making it my new career.
I went on to study with the College of Will Writers, completing and passing the SWWEPP Will and Estate Planning Certificate Course. This gave me the knowledge, confidence, and legal foundation to help others secure their futures with clarity and care.
Now, through Luckings & Co., I’m proud to offer a friendly, professional, and affordable alternative to the traditional legal route. I take the time to understand each client’s unique situation, and I aim to make the process of writing a Will or setting up an LPA as simple and reassuring as possible.
Outside of work, you’ll usually find me walking my dog, tending to my various farm animals, or in the kitchen cooking something hearty.
